Collective Worship is an integral part of life at St Winefride’s.
From our morning prayer onwards the children delight in worshipping Our Lord throughout the day. Collective worship has its own place in the curriculum but is also spontaneous.
The RE Team takes a lead in promoting collective worship and they help other children to learn the important prayers that will follow them throughout their lives.
We also take part in collective worship outside of school, every year we take a central role in the Remembrance Service at Central Park, East Ham, where we join all of the Catholic schools in the deanery, as well as several schools from the borough to remember the sacrifice of others that has enabled us to live free and safe lives.
The First Holy Communion programme is a very important way of combining school and church life, with the school helping to prepare the children for this most important sacrament, with the families joining together to celebrate this milestone in their children’s faith.
